His Awesome Work of Art
God’s
Holy Word is precious and I love every word of it. My favorite reading is Psalm. David sure knew how to pour his heart
out to God.
Whither
shall I go from thy spirit? Or, whither shall I go from thy presence? If I ascend
up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold thou art there.
(Psalm 139:7-8). Such holy words.
I think what
David is saying is that there is just no place we can go that God is not
with us. We cannot lose Him and he will never lose us so long as we make ourselves available to Him.
It makes me wonder, with so many
miraculous testimonies around us, how we could escape God. Somehow we do. We
live in an art gallery of divine creativity and never take the time to stop and
really see what God has created for us. Mountains tall, valleys green, and sky
of blue. We just do not see them.
Some demand more. More signs.
More proof that God exist as if He were some vaudeville magician we can demand He
do more tricks of magic and give us a free ride through life.
How have we grown so blind? Have we
grown immune to His awesomeness? Why are we so reluctant to be staggered or
thunderstruck?
Perhaps the frequency of the
miracles blinds us to their beauty. After all, what spice is there in springtime
or a tree blossom? Don’t the seasons come every year? Aren’t the colors of each
season the same? Beautiful shades of green and pink for spring, red, yellow, brown,
for fall, and mostly black and white for winter…
Bored, we say Ho-hum, and in our mind,
we replace the remarkable with the regular, the unbelievable with the
anticipated. Science and statistics wave their unmagic wand across the face of
life trying its best to squelch divine creation and replacing it with man’s ideas on scientific ways of creation.
You can
be an eyewitness of His Majesty. Stare in amazement at His creation of a sunset,
or the simple bloom of a wildflower. Stop taking each for granted as if it’s
just an ordinary close of the day, or the flower only a weed. The next time you see a baby smile or watch
the ocean tide come in, take note. Pause and listen to His Majesty as He whispers ever
so gently, “I’m here child.”
I love to go out on a clear night and look up
into the heavens. I believe God hangs each star out as night-lights just to
help his children know He is watching over us; that He is our Almighty Father
and He will be near if we need Him.
What precious gifts of love he gives His children….
For by grace are
ye saved through faith; and not of yourselves: it is the gift of God…Ephesians
2:8.
Thank you for sharing, Mary.
